Two of my most requested items: Pumpkin Dog Treat Recipes and Pumpkin Frosty Paws.
Here is my creation straight from the beach life with my dogs as the very happy testers for what has become the famous dog treat Pumpkin Frosty Paws Recipe.
This recipe is the healthiest version using almond butter instead of peanut butter. Many dogs have problems with scratching and itching, and yeast is a problem. Peanuts are on any candida (yeast infestation = itching) diet as a big no, no, do not eat.
The benefits of coconut oil are huge as well as pumpkin in your dog’s diet. Use often!
Pumpkin Frosty Paws Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 2 cups (16 oz) plain yogurt
- 15 oz can organic pumpkin *make sure this is not pumpkin pie fill due to the sugar in it
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
Easiest method:
Mix ingredients in blender
Pour mixture into ice cube trays
Freeze
Ready to use one cube at a time
Bigger treat method: Paper cups “Dixie-style”. *Note for dogs watching their weight the smaller version is better : )
Use a blender until the mixture is nice and smooth.
Pour into paper cups
Freeze
Feeding instructions:
- Take a Pumpkin Frosty Paws container out of the freezer and let stand for 10 min.
- Peel the paper cup off or simply turn the cup over and tap out with the perfect amount of thawing around the edges.
- If you’ve used ice cube tray, twist and loosen and break out as a special treat one at a time.
Please enjoy your dog and the simple things in life, take a deep breath and wag more!
